Makarand Buva Ramdasi Sumant was born in Satara, Maharashtra. His family
originates from Riswad, with ancestors who served as Sumant (royal counsellors)
in the court of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj — a proud lineage steeped in devotion and duty.
मकरंद बुवा रामदासी सुमंत यांचा जन्म सातारा, महाराष्ट्र येथे झाला. त्यांचे कुटुंब मूळचे रिसवड येथील आहे आणि त्यांचे पूर्वज छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराजांच्या दरबारातील सुमंत (राजनीती सल्लागार) होते — भक्ती आणि कर्तव्यात रुजलेली ही एक अभिमानास्पद परंपरा आहे.
His spiritual awakening began in childhood at a Vishnu Mandir in Satara,
where he was immersed in Katha Kirtan, Pravachan, and the upasana of
Shri Samartha Ramdas Swami. Guided by the revered Sri Annakaka Abhyankar,
he relocated to the sacred Sajjangad after completing his Bachelor's degree
in Instrumental Engineering in 1987.
त्यांची आध्यात्मिक जाणीव बालपणी सातार्यातील विष्णू मंदिरात जागृत झाली, जेथे ते कथा कीर्तन, प्रवचन आणि श्री समर्थ रामदास स्वामींच्या उपासनेशी जोडले गेले. पूज्य श्री अण्णाकाका अभ्यंकर यांच्या मार्गदर्शनाखाली, १९८७ मध्ये इन्स्ट्रुमेंटल इंजिनिअरिंगची पदवी घेतल्यानंतर ते पवित्र सज्जनगडावर गेले.
At Sajjangad, the samadhisthal of Shri Samartha Ramdas Swami, Makarand Buva
immersed himself in daily services — the sacred rituals of the Samadhi and the
living wisdom of Dasbodh. He received his deep education in spiritual discourse
from honoured Gurus including Anant (Appa) Athvale, Vardanand Bharti, and
many revered elders.
सज्जनगडावर — श्री समर्थ रामदास स्वामींच्या समाधीस्थळी — मकरंद बुवांनी स्वतःला नित्यसेवेत झोकून दिले. समाधीची पूजाअर्चा, दासबोधाचे पठण आणि नित्यकर्म यात त्यांनी स्वतःला वाहून घेतले. पूज्य अनंत (अप्पा) आठवले, वरदानंद भारती आणि इतर अनेक आदरणीय गुरूंकडून त्यांनी प्रवचन व कीर्तनाचे शिक्षण घेतले.
For the past 23 years, Makarand Buva has been on this auspicious mission —
presenting and spreading the wisdom of Sanatan Dharma and Vedic philosophy.
His deep knowledge of Bharat's saints, sages, and scriptures shines through
his every discourse. Beyond the spiritual, he is also a trained pilot who
loves exploring new horizons.
